8.24pm: End of level
Join us in a new post for the level 28 updates. -- RD
8.22pm: Gavin doubles through Dale
Big moment for Fintan Gavin. He opened the button for 105,000 and Jamie Dale shoved all-in from the button to set Gavin in, who slowly made the call.
Gavin: [ad][2h]
Dale: [kh][tc]
The board blanked out [6c][4s][9c] [qd][3s]. Gavin up to 1,750,000 and Dale down to 1,200,000. -- RD
8.15pm: Thomas Ward eliminated in fourth place (16,850)
From under-the-gun Andrew Hawksby raised to 150,000, Jamie Dale and Fintan Gavin got out the way, but Thomas Ward then moved all-in from the big blind for 1,200,000 total with [Qh][Js]. After a couple of seconds pause Hawksby made the call with [Ac][Qs] and he had Ward dominated.
The board of [10s][6s][2d][8h][7c] sent Ward to the rail and that's three players gone in the 45 minutes since play re-started. -- NW
8.07pm: Dale pressure boiler blows
Jamie Dale's attempt to exert maximum pressure has just backfired on him after shipping Andrew Hawksby a 3,000,000 pot. Hawksby opened the cut-off for 110,000 and was called by Jamie Dale on the button and Thomas Ward in the big blind.
Hawksby c-bet 135,000 into the [as][8h][td] flop and Dale called. Hawksby fired another 300,000 into the [kc] turn and Dale called again.
The river was a [q] and Hawksby called all-in for 935,000 - it was a little unclear how it went in on the river but it looked like Hawksby was making a crying call to a shove. He showed a set of aces and Dale mucked face down. Oh dear. Dale later said that he had [k][3] and had floated the flop. -- RD
8pm: Chop it up
From the small blind Andrew Hawksby made it 100,000 to go and a chipped up Jamie Dale defended his big blind.
Both players checked it all the way down on a board of [10h][kh][Ac][7s][js] and each showed [J][x] to chop the pot. -- NW
7.53pm: Dale turning the screw
Jamie Dale is really piling on the pressure here. He has been opening and three-betting almost every pot, which is all adding chips to his stack nicely. Fintan Gavin and Thomas Ward are both eyeing up Dale with thinly veiled contempt, maybe they're just jealous. -- RD
7.45pm: George Clyde-Smith eliminated in fifth place (13,100)
He'd got a lot of shoves through uncontested but George Clyde-Smith finally had someone look him up. He shoved under-the-gun with [Kd][9s] for around 15 big blinds and Jamie Dale called with [8c][8d].
The flop of [3c][5c][Ac] left Clyde-Smith drawing thin, the [Jc] turn left him drawing dead and Dale and Clyde-Smith were already shaking hands as the [4c] completed the board.
With back to back knockouts Jamie Dale is now massive with around 3,700,000, nearly half the chips in play. -- NW
7.39pm: Craig Brown out in sixth (10,500)
Craig Brown moved all-in from the small blind for [6h][5h] for 560,000 and was snapped off by Jamie Dale in the big blind with [ad][kd]. The board ran out [6s][3s][2d][ks][3h]. -- RD
7.32pm: Andrew Hawksby doubles through Thomas Ward
From under-the-gun Andrew Hawksby made it 200,000 to go and it folded to Thomas Ward in the big blind. After looking at Hawksby's stack (695,000 total) Ward bet 1,000,000 and Hawksby made the call.
Ward: [Ac][Qc]
Hawksby: [Qd][Qh]
The board ran [Jc][7s][Js][3s][Kh], Hawksby up to 1,400,000, Ward down to 1,000,000. -- NW
7.20pm: Back from the break
Players are back in their seats, here's the chip counts as level 27 begins:
Jamie Dale 2,230,000
George Clyde-Smith 745,000
Fintan Gavin 1,400,000
Thomas Ward 1,630,000
Andrew Hawksby 915,000
Craig Brown 740,000
Jamie Dale still has the chip lead with Fintan Gavin and Thomas Ward in the middle of the pack. Despite being the shorter stacks in any of those with less than a million doubled through Jamie Dale they would be near enough the chip leader.
In short - it's still anyone's tournament. -- NW
LEVEL UP: BLINDS 25,000-50,000 ante 5,000
6.20pm: Dinner break
Players are now on a one hour dinner break, we'll bring you official chip counts on the other side. -- NW
6.16pm: Brown doubles through Clyde-Smith
These two are just trading chips!
After George Clyde-Smith made it 90,000 to go, Craig Brown shoved for 294,000 with [Qc][Js] and Clyde-Smith made the call with [Ac][Qs].
"Jack one-time?" said Brown as the dealer prepared to burn and turn. Perhaps the poker gods were listening as the flop was [Jh][8d][10h]. The [3h] and [Qh] completed the board and Brown is up to 600,000, Clyde-Smith down to 700,000. -- NW
6.10pm: Clyde-Smith doubles through Brown
After Craig Brown opened to 85,000, George Clyde-Smith moved all-in for around 464,000. "This is a horrible call, but I'm going to make it," said Brown as he slid in the calling chips, on their backs:
Brown: [Kc][Jc]
Clyde-Smith: [Ad][6d]
The flop of [3d][Qc][10s] elicited a: "That's me done," from Clyde-Smith as Brown flopped an open-ended straight draw. The turn was the [8h] and the [10d] completed the board, leaving Brown with just 260,000. -- NW
6.05pm: Clyde-Smith gets another shove through
I've lost count of how many shoves George Clyde-Smith has got through over the last few levels. It's been a lot. A double up or bust must be in the offing. His last shove was for 452,000, back up to 530,000. -- RD
6pm: Fintan finds a fold
After Jamie Dale open raised to 80,000, Fintan Gavin three-bet to 195,000 total from a stack of 1,200,000. Back on Dale he thought for around a minute before moving all-in, Fintan made a fast fold. -- NW
5.55pm: Three-betting rife
There has been a lot of three-betting since the action turned six-handed. Hawksby has just taken the most recent three-bet pot, despite some deep tanking from George Clyde-Smith in the big blind. He's getting short and needs to get his chips in fairly soon, little over ten big blinds left. -- RD
5.50pm: Approximate chip counts
Tournament director Toby Stone just read out approximate chip counts and in seat order they are:
Jamie Dale 2,200,000
George Clyde Smith 550,000
Fintan Gavin 1,200,000
Thomas Ward 1,800,000
Andrew Hawksby 900,000
Craig Brown 1,100,000
There's around 30 minutes left in this level -- NW
5.42pm: Another squeeze
This time it's Jamie Dale using the squeeze technique to bust up his opponents. Andrew Hawksby opened for 80,000 and was called by Craig Brown on the cut-off before Dale came over the top with a small three-bet. Both players folded to the big stack. -- RD
5.35pm: Andrew Hawksby doubles through Jamie Dale
Jamie Dale made it 80,000 to go, Andrew Hawksby moved all-in for 448,000 with [Ks][Qd] and Dale made a quick call with two black nines.
The flop of [4h][10c][Ac] kept Dale in front but gave Hawksby additional outs. One of those arrived on fourth street as the [Kd] hit the board and the [8d] completed the board, Dale down to 2,100,000. -- NW
5.28pm: Brown sauce
Craig Brown has just three-bet squeezed to 250,000, forcing out original raiser Fintan Gavin (89,000) and caller Thomas Ward, who was a reluctant passer.
"You call my raise but not his?" asked Gavin. -- RD
